YR Qutus Drift Big Bore Dampers

Hey guys!!

Back with another installment of another great product thats affordable yet providing the customer with the kind of performance that would help you better your skills, better your car and have lots of fun

They latest release of dampers from Yeah Racing are these fantastic aluminium big bore adjustable dampers featuring an on-the-fly quick tuning system. The concept itself is not new... With nitro racers back in the day having used this type of system, however it is the first time (that i know of) where its being applied to the drift cars.

The packaging is well designed with a clear 'window' to give you an idea of whats inside. The labelling is nice and large, peaking your curiosity. At the back is a cut away perspective drawing showing the inner workings and labelling the different parts which is cool.

In the box you will find all the components you would expect from a set of dampers however you will also find an extra set of harder springs and the quick tuning set of pistons. They also include ball end studs for you to use or change over to, if you so wish, which for me was a relief.

The instructions contsined within the box indicate that you ae given, 2 types of quick tining pistons as well the normal fixed hole pistons we are used to. To me thats a fantastic deal already!

I was very curious to learn about the quick tuning system. I chose to use the 6 level system instead of the 4. I tried out both tbh to get a feel for the hardness and softness through the levels and although one can feel the difference, the 6 level system gave me a bit more tuning which i particularly liked.

Above are the two quick tuning piston systems. The one on the top is the 4 level and bottom, the 6 level. Please take note of the holes on the pistons. Care must be takrn to ensure that you use the correct pistons together else the system will not work.

At first i did not read the instructions carefully and the system would not work. So i had to re-read, re-check then got it right.

Another point to not is that the top of the shaft, where the pistons goe, has a flat surface to it. The piston hole as well also has this flat section. Make sure its lined up. If you don't, you will force the pistons on and will damage the centre hole and the system will not work. You will then need to get another set of those pistons, so please please make sure its correctly lined up.

After assembling your dampers make sure that it works. Pull down slowly yet firmly on the shaft and turn it till you feel it lock in to place. Once locked in turn the shaft left or right for hardness and softness. You should feel the 'click' donr be alarmed if it only clicks 5 times as it already starts of at 1 lol

Once that is checked, then add in the oil and finish off the dampers in the regular fashion. Here i used the DS Racing Rwd oil i already just to see the effect. After this test i will use the YR oil thats bundled with the dampers to see how they work.

And voila!! An affordable aluminium damper set combining efficient tuning capabilities that doesn't dent your pocket! I will give feedback on these once i run these on my chassis at the track.

For the price you pay you get a whole lot more than you would expect and the quality is really good.

I did find the shaft having a slight lateral play but not so much that it would affect the performance. The instructions arent very clear of hand and you need to read it carefully, pay attention to the way you need to install the pistons as well and you will be fine

Overall alot of thought has gone into developing this system and it shows.

Yeah Racing - Tire Changer and Remover

Hey guys!

Today I wanna have a chat about a very handy product which saves time and is a very convenient tool to have in your pit bag. The Yeah Racing Tire remover and changer. (Code : YT-0195)

Packing is sturdy and simple, its a small box and can be easily reused to accommodate other rc parts to keep in your bag! im keeping some of my wheels in them.  Although packaging plays an important role in the presentation of a product, I like the simplicity of it. It also helps bring down the cost of the actual tool which is aimed at providing the end user the best possible price and equipment.

That's all of the components for the tire changer. They come individually packed for easy building. The instructions are simple, in English and very easy to follow. The weight of the parts tells you of its solid build. I must admit that it looked good even though it was in the packaging. As you can I also had some new tires to install.

Love the feel of this Tire changer. I've wanted one of these for a long time. The finish on this tool is quite good , with a satin finish and its SOLID!! on thing I would recommend though is to add a bit of high density foam on the part that presses into the wheel, just for a little bit of cushioning.

In this case I used it to mount a tire onto the wheel. Just keep in mind that you got to remove the cylinder to fit the tire back on. Care must be taken to line up everything else you WILL crack you rims!!

and there you have it!! All done nice and neat all in under a minute!

Verdict : Very handy tool to have around when you are at the track side or at comps. The quality of the product versus the price you pay is excellent and is definately worth getting one. Its well made and looks good. I do however suggest that stick some high denisty on the under side of the main part that fits into the wheel just so that it provides a bit of cushioning and doesn't scratch the precious rims :)
